The Biggest Computer Viruses

Early versions of Jerusalem — one instance of which was found in a military office in Israel — repeatedly infected files until the computer became overwhelmed by their size. It remained active throughout the 1990s, infecting many computers in enterprises and government offices and becoming a popular template for future viruses due to its simple code. Read more

Funny Lemurs

Lemurs make up the infraorder Lemuriformes and are members of a group of primates known as prosimians. The term “lemur” is derived from the Latin word lemures, meaning “spirits of the night” or “ghosts”. This likely refers to their large, reflective eyes and the wailing cries of some species (the Indri in particular). The term is generically used for the members of the four lemuriform families, but it is also the genus of one of the lemuriform species, the Ring-tailed Lemur (Lemur catta). The two so-called flying lemur species, that are also called colugos, are not lemurs or even primates.

Berlin’s Dirty Food Fight
IT is supposed to be a traditional food fight, but Berlin’s latest Wasserschlacht battle was a dirty encounter – with combatants slinging rotten fish and dirty nappies at each other.
Held every July since 1998, the Wasserschlacht sees two battling Berlin districts – Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg – meet on the Oberbaumbrücke Bridge to pelt each other with eggs, flour, fruit and foam-rubber clubs.

Hard hat ... almost 1000 stinking soldiers kitted out in protective outfits such as helmets and shields met on the Oberbaumbrücke Bridge for the annual Wasserschlacht battle / Reuters
